The area surrounding the village is great for walking,
cycling (although hilly!) and swimming. You can walk
from the house to the river Dordogne and find your own
pebble beach! Golf, tennis and horse-riding are also
available within 5km.
Canoeing
is a major activity in the area, and gives you the opportunity
to take in the stunning scenery.
It can be done with children in the summer, as the
river is shallow and slow flowing - perfect for beginners.
Something
which will also appeal to the whole family is a visit
to a tree adventure park.
There are two excellent ones near Sarlat (one of which
is the Indian
Forest Perigord): a full forest adventure course
with tree climbing, swinging, high wire, scramble nets
and rope bridges.
Finally, for the most adventurous, speleology and rock
climbing are available from local specialist companies.
